Matt Uhry found his cinematic footing thanks to an aunt’s Super 8mm camera discovered on a family trip when he was nine years old. A decade later Matt graduated to a Bolex under the tutelage of experimental filmmaker Stan Brakhage at University of Colorado Boulder, where he studied for his BFA.
Matt has since directed campaigns for Sony, Lenovo, Nikon, Nokia, Intel, Ford and Honda. His commercial work for Kellogg’s, Gap, and Baccardi has also been featured in the Saatchi showcase at Cannes. His branded piece for the PIMA Air and Space Museum won a Gold Lion.
Matt is also a licensed pilot and has flown to Denali base camp, from tiny dirt landing strips in Namibia, and shot aerial sequences over large, hungry bears on Kodiak Island. In his free time, Matt shakes cocktails, repairs his vintage vehicles, gardens, and competes with his Australian Shepherd in agility.
